1 FILTRAJE

Frase clave: «No puedo resistirlo»

2.PENSAMIENTO POLARIZADO

¿Y si me mareo y me caigo? ¿Y si mi hijo empieza a drogarse?

5 PERSONALIZACION

pensamientos-distorsionados-6

LIST OF DISTORTED THOUGHTS

Fitted inside the Cognitive Therapy, the distorted thoughts, they speak to us about thoughts that we we all have, but that his frequency and intensity, they can make us distort the reality, interpret it of an incorrect form, and feel badly for it, later there is described the list of distorted thoughts, already I say that it is his intensity, his frequency, which it can separate from something inside the normality or the pathological thing.

 1. Filtration Type of » Vision of tunnel » (at the end of a tunnel one sees a small cut of the reality, the walls cover the rest) The one who has this distortion only sees an element of the situation with exclusion of other things. Of the whole set there takes a simple detail and the whole event or situation remains dyed by this detail. Each one has his own vision of tunnel. Some of them are sensitive only to the losses and do not value also the probable benefits of the things. Others only see the minimal possibility of danger in a situation and it prevents them from enjoying it the set, which can be agreeable.

It is those who in the persons only look for evidence of injustices and do not value the rest. This is not given only on having considered new situations but also on having re-examined the recollections. If one proceeds this way on having checked his past it can re-experiment selectively (leaking the rest) only the situations where it was annoyed or with distress or depression, skipping the moments where it was nice In synthesis: everything bad takes of something and is praised, whereas on the other hand the good things filter. He is like the one that, before a full bottle up to the half, says systematicly: – » This bottle is average empties » – habitual Mechanisms of filtration: Magnificación (to increase very much the things) and tremendización (them to take to the tremendous one). Also, to extract thoughts out of context. Key words: » Terrible? Tremendous? Disagreeable? Horrifying » key Phrase: » I cannot resist it »

2. THOUGHT POLARIZED With this thought one does choices dicotómicas, does not have average terms. The things are good or bad, wonderful or horrible. This creates a world in black and white and one cannot see the shades of grey. When this thought is applied on one itself at the time if one is not perfect or brilliant it is that it is a failure or the useless one.

Example: A mother of three children, whose husband almost was never in the house for his work, was determined to be » fort and person in charge «. If he was feeling that it was not achieving it and was getting tired, he was thinking about her itself that it was weak and that it was not serving. It could not see the half tones and notice that, anyhow, it had done more than sufficient during the day.

 3. INTERPRETATION OF THE THOUGHT They Are hypothesis or ideas that one does to himself of persons or situations. This is like that in the measure in which one imagines that the people feel and react in the same way as one itself in equal situation. Therefore it cannot distinguish that there are persons who can act or be different from what one believes and to act guided by these «almost real free ideas. Typical phrases: » It is logical that it acts this way because it is jealous? » » This She with me for my money? » » It is afraid of showing affection «.

 4. CATASTROPHIC VISION Is the trend to see in small signs a probable catastrophe. Example: A pain of head indicates already a cerebral tumor; the intensive pulse or the swarming of the arms indicates a cardiac heart attack. Phrases example: They are in the habit of beginning these thoughts with the phrase » and if?? » Ej. » And if it knocks down a car on having crossed?; and if the plane is fallen? And if I feel sick and fall? And if my son starts drugging?

 5. Personalize Is the trend to relate everything to one itself. This drives in general to the habit of being compared with the others. In general, if of the comparison it turns out to be winning he will enjoy a momentary relief and if it turns out to be losing he will feel humiliated. The basic mistake of this type of thought is that is interpreted every look, every gesture or conversation as a track or an information to be analyzed and to be valued to yes same. The person who thinks this way believes that everything what the people do or say is some form of reaction towards her. Slave lives of be comparing with the others, trying to determine this whom better garment, who has better body «, etc. Examples: » It Dances better than I «, » … I am not so entertained as the rest of the group » » … she is much surer than I «, or: » I am the prettiest «; » … they listen to him but to me not «.

 6. DECEIT OF CONTROL They Are distortions of the sense of the control or of the power on yes same. A person can turn to if same as impotent and externally controlled, liabilities, which nothing can make or on the contrary as that everything it can, believe person in charge of everything and of having to lead to the world in his shoulders. Both basic manners of seeing the world from this condition it is or victim of the destination feels or on the contrary, believes himself person in charge of the suffering or of the happiness of those that they him surround.

 7. DECEIT OF JUSTICE This distortion is centred on the application of legal and contractual procedure to the caprices of the interpersonal relations. The disadvantage is that two you present strange they put in agreement on what it is just and the claimed justice refers generally if there is provided to him what one waits, it needs or wishes of another person. This is in the habit of driving to that one remains immobilized in his point of view and to feel always in war, with increasing annoyance towards other one. Examples: » If it loved me he would not say to myself that not? «; » If he really loved me would it return early to house? «; » If this was a good marriage she should take care better of the children.. »

8. EMOTIONAL REASONING Belief of which if one feels certain things it is because they are like that actually. If one feels snub it is because one is really ugly. If one feels culprit is because it had to do something badly. The problem of one believing itself that the emotional thought is always is valid is like to believe itself that everything what the propagandas of the TV say is true.

 9. DECEIT OF THE CHANGE The only person that one can have the hope to control is to yes same. In the deceit of the change it is believed nevertheless that it is easier to change other persons in order that they adapt to one that one to be modified to adapt to the environment. The strategies to change others include the fault to throw them, to demand them, to conceal things and to negotiate. The habitual result is that another person feels irresolute constant and does not change by no means. The fundamental supposition of this type of thoughts is that the happiness of one depends on the acts on the others.

10. GLOBAL LABELS Labelling is to put label to the persons or to the situations from some fact or circumstance. If someone does not give any thing it is labelled of egoist. If a person proves to be slightly boisterous in the group once or twice already she remains labelled of bored. These ideas can contain something indeed but the bad of the labels is that they ignore any opposite evidence turning the vision of the things into something very rigid and routine.

 11. The person SHOULD THEM with this distortion it has a » interior list » of procedure rigid and stereotyped on they «should» behave or act so much she as the others since. If trasgreden these internal procedure it gets angry very much, or he feels very guilty if it is she itself who violates them. Since result of this often ends up by adopting the position of strict judge and finds permanently lacking in others or in yes same. If the others do not act consistently to his criteria it gets angry or becomes intolerant. He supposes that they all «should» know the rules and «to should» follow them. Typical words: » It Should … it would have … it would haveExamples:

 1) A woman was feeling that his husband «should» want to extract it to social meetings and that in them he «should» be more sociable and talkative. If it was not doing it it was because » he is an egoist who alone thinks in yes same «

 2) it Should be more spontaneous.

 3) it Should love my children equally

 4) it Should have a stronger character.

 5) it Should be more efficient in what I do

 6) it Should be more constant in my affections because I sit love often, but others do not.

12 TO HAVE REASON One has to prove constant that his point of view is the correct one. It puts always to the defensive not being interested in the opinion of other one but in defending his idea. It is as that one is never wrong.

The persons with this type of opinions strange change because they are not in the habit of listening to new information, everything what does not fit in what already they believe they it ignore and are in the habit of considering that to have reason is more important that to support a few good personal relations. Ej. The husband, who was coming at any hour and his wife did not know when to prepare the food for him, he was reproaching him that while she was calm in his house it had to be working the whole day.
13 GUILT The person with this distortion experiments relief when there finds the one who is the culprit or person in charge of some situation. But this, often it implies that it is other one the one that meets forced to turn into person in charge of choices and decisions that, definitively, are also a responsibility of one. Some persons, of a preferential way, overturn the guilt on them themselves. This way constant they worry for believing itself incompetent, stupid, insensitive or very emotive. Examples

1) A woman was blaming the butcher of selling always meat with fat but she might have gone to another butcher’s shop.

2) Another woman was thinking that she had the fault of ruining the day the husband for twenty minutes to have come late to a holiday. Since the holiday ended early he concluded that it was because they had bothered about her.

14 DECEIT OF REWARD The person with this distortion behaves correctly? In wait of a reward. In general one manages to exhaust physics and mentally working and thinking that his effort will be recognized and rewarded the one who estimates one (God, the children, the spouse, the chief). Example: was mother craving? In order that my children have the better thing?. It was taking them to the school, was supervising his tasks, was accompanying them on gymnastics, on dance, music, of walk, was preparing the best eaten ones for them and the impeccable clothes had them.

Always he was thinking that this would be recognized by them and by his husband, Since with so many tasks she was in the habit of remaining debilitated it was becoming irritable and bad-tempered. This generated ultimately discomfort and rejection on behalf of theirs, thing that it was taking as a sample of which they were, after everything, a few ungrateful persons.

15Generalize one tends to do a valid conclusion for everything from an alone fact, generally little relevant, ignoring carefully everything what could contradict it. This way if one feels sick realizing a trip in group it will never realize other one. This drives to a life increasingly limited because if it happens slightly badly once it will hope that it happens again and again. Indicative words: Quite, nobody, never, always, all, none.

Key words: distorted thoughts, fíltration, polarized thought, interpretation of the thought, catastrophic vision, customization. Deceit of control, deceit of justice, emotional reasoning, deceit of change, global labels, you doing , to have reason, guilt, deceit of the reward, generalice, guilt, procedure, inflexibility, interior list.
